August 2023 President’s Message

“…We have to pick and choose very carefully how we spend our free time, but I know that every minute I spend with you ladies in the network is so worth it!”

I will never get tired of seeing the love that comes from this community when it comes to helping out others. I'm constantly blown away by the love that is shared here when someone needs help. I guess that's why I've stayed here for so long. I've lived here for 43 years now and I really can't think of another place I would live. There are so many nonprofits in our community that are out there doing great things for all people.  But, I really love what we do because it's a little bit different than what others do.  We specifically give scholarships to women who are 24 years+ and returning to school.  I've sat on many interview panels over the years and I'm constantly amazed at what women are out there trying to achieve and how hard they are trying to change their lives. I wish we would have videoed some of our past recipients speaking at the fundraiser. To hear their stories directly from them made all the difference in the world. It confirmed for me that the time and effort that we spend on this fundraiser is so worth it.  Some of their stories are heartbreaking and then some are so uplifting.  We've helped so many women in this community!  This network isn't just about our scholarships though.  It's about meeting women we've never met before, making new friends, supporting each other through hard times, supporting each other through good times, using each other's businesses in the network, and learning things together from our speakers at our meetings.  I know time is limited in our day to to day lives and we have to pick and choose very carefully how we spend our free time, but I know that every minute I spend with you ladies in the network is so worth it!   

Cheers to many more meetings together, more fundraisers together and more love and support for each other.
