November 2023 President’s Message
Besides fall being one of my favorite seasons, I look forward to this event that I have attended for about 10 or more years now. It's the TCWN Installation Dinner of the new board for 2024. I always look forward to the new year as I love seeing the growth of our organization and the growth of the women on our board. I want to take this opportunity to thank my board for helping me throughout this year. There is a saying that goes "You're only as good as your team". Well my team stepped up and helped me run our network this year. My year did not start off well. I spent the month of January and February traveling back and forth to Tracy to be with my dad, who eventually passed away on February 14th. He was 96 years old and I thought I would have him forever. What made this difficult time easier was knowing that the board would do whatever was needed in my absence. My team at my winery even made things so easy for me to be gone. I will say this from the bottom of my heart, this is what this network is all about, love, friendship and support.
We support each other's businesses, but we also support each other in life.
Now, I say this with honesty, I don't feel like I've done a good job as president this year. Once dad died, I have struggled through the year with everything. But through the lessons of life I've learned it's ok to acknowledge our downfalls, our hardships or troubles. I know some of you know how I feel.
So I look forward to next year with the full engagement of a new board, new year and new ideas for our network. It's always so fun to watch. I'm also loving that we have "younger blood" on this new board. Having the old with the new will help guide our network to such exciting times. I'm also looking forward to seeing where our new President, Ashley Moore will take us as a network.
I have one more month as President and our last meeting will be our holiday meeting, which I think all of us look forward to.
Again thank you to the current board for having my back and supporting me and our network this year. I couldn't have done it without you!!
Lovingly,
Karen Mariano-Luckhardt, President
