Hello Ladies,
Welcome to the New Year! As your new President I'm excited for this new year because you've made the choice to be a member of this great organization. It's every single one of you that makes this network what it is. We're going to have a great year together and grow alongside each other. You know why? Because my goal for all of us this year is for us to empower each other. We will be women who are empowered by women, which, by the way, was the theme of my Installation speech. We had an incredible year last year under the leadership of our past President Nikki Coleman. Thank you Nikki for directing us through an awesome year and creating Operation Turquoise, which we will continue into 2023.
I'm also very excited about who we are as an organization and where we're going.
We have more new members than we've ever had, more new board members than we ever had, we raised the most money for our scholarship than we ever have, we morphed our expo into a fundraiser and business showcase into one event and watched it become a huge success and we networked with each other about our businesses. Let's keep up this amazing pace and keep empowering each other as we continue to grow the network and grow our businesses.
So, now that you know how much fun we're going to have, there are some things you need to do. First and foremost, please pay your membership fees which are due. If you haven't ordered a badge, it's time. You'll want everyone to know who you are at our meetings. It's also time to start thinking about who you're going to invite as a guest to a meeting and who you think could be a member of our network that's not. Then, mark your calendars with these dates so you don't miss a meeting:
January - No meeting (Board convenes at Annual Retreat)
February 15th - Lunch Meeting
March 15th - Dinner Meeting
April 19th - Lunch Meeting
May 17th - Dinner Meeting
June 21st - Lunch Meeting
July 19th - 2nd Annual Wine Down Wednesday Fundraiser for the Women’s Scholarship Fund
August 16th - Lunch Meeting
September 20th - Dinner Meeting
October 18th - Lunch Meeting
November - Installation to be held the 3rd week of November (exact date TBD)
December 20th - Holiday Giving Luncheon
Ok, ladies, ready set go. Let's start this year! First order of business, the Executive Board will meet on January 12th ahead of our board retreat and finalize our budget for the year. Then the budget will be presented at the Board Retreat which follows right after. At the retreat we will brainstorm for the whole year. It's an exciting process and lots of work, but this new board is up for the challenge.
In February we will start with our regular meetings with a lunch meeting (location to be announced at the beginning of February).
