August President’s Message
Happy August, TCWN Members!
What a summer it has been for the Tuolumne County Women’s Network! We started off with a great meeting at The Armory in June, followed by our wildly successful Wine Down Wednesday Fundraiser in July, and this month we have an exciting and unique meeting coming up at Mount Brow Vineyards. I am thrilled with the momentum and growth in our network at this moment – What an exciting time!
Before I dive into current updates and TCWN happenings, I first would like to give a BIG THANK YOU to everyone who attended and supported our inaugural Wine Down Wednesday Fundraiser last month at Inner Sanctum Cellars Basecamp. We had a goal of raising a net total of $10,000 for the TCWN Women’s Scholarship Fund and I am so pleased to let you know that we CRUSHED that goal and raised over $16,000! With Scholarship Applications already rolling in for the Fall giving cycle, these funds will be so impactful for our applicants. I would like to personally give a special Thank You to Pete and Karen Mariano-Luckhardt for donating their venue and staff at Inner Sanctum Cellars Basecamp, as well as our small but mighty event committee who worked tirelessly to put on our first WDW event. Special Thank You to Becci Burton and Tammy Hammond for all of your efforts! Stay tuned for a formal wrap-up and thank you to all major donors and sponsors once donations have been finalized (they are still rolling in!).
In the middle of this jam-packed summer, our board wanted to take the opportunity at our next general meeting to slow down and center ourselves. As women in business (and Moms, friends, daughters and partners), we are always on the go and always doing for others, but rarely take a moment for self care! If this sounds like you, you don’t want to miss our August General Meeting happening on Wednesday, August 17th at 11:30 am at Mt. Brow Vineyards. Our guest speaker, Sally Arnold, is an international mindfulness educator, speaker, author and coach and will be speaking to us about mindfulness and reclaiming a life of joy, ease and balance. I am so excited for our network to have the opportunity to learn from Sally, as this tool is so important to our success as professional women! As the great Maya Angelou once said, “As you grow older, you will discover that you have two hands; One for helping for yourself, the other for helping others.” Don’t miss this chance for self-care and connection with our network. Advance reservations are required. Tickets can be purchased here and include a healthy box lunch and dessert from our fellow TCWN member, Chef Rebecca Carlson! Deadline for reservations is Sunday, Aug. 14th.
Last but not least, I wanted to share that as of today, we have new TCWN name badges for sale! Badges include our new logo, and are personalized with your name and business. Badges cost $18.00 and will be full color with a magnetic clip. A preview of the badge artwork and ordering instructions were emailed to members. Orders must be placed by August 19th.
I look forward to seeing you all next week and for the opportunity to focus on mindfulness! Be well.
Aloha nui loa,
Nikki Coleman, President
