July President’s Message
Aloha kakou, Tuolumne County Women’s Network!
I hope this finds you all healthy, happy and enjoying Summertime! While I wasn’t able to attend our June General Meeting at The Armory, I’ve received feedback that it was a great success! I’d like to extend a great big Thank You to my VP, Karen Mariano-Luckhardt, for stepping in to conduct the meeting on my behalf, as well as our speaker, Tiffany Luckhardt, and the incredible staff at The Armory! I hope you all had an educational (and fun!) luncheon and, more importantly, I hope you met someone new, marketed your business and gained a referral or two!
Speaking of networking, our event this month is sure to be a great opportunity to meet new friends and colleagues in the community, while also raising DOLLARS for women SCHOLARS! As you may know, TCWN has been supporting women professionals in Tuolumne County since 1990. In addition to its networking opportunities and professional support, we also raise annual funds for our Women’s Scholarship Fund. Being a part of an organization that gives back to the community and empowers women to continue their education is, for me, what makes TCWN so special. Having an altruistic, philanthropic element that complements our professional work makes it all the more meaningful. To top it off, we are so fortunate to have Mrs. Becci Banks as Scholarship Chairwoman on the board this year! She has an immense passion for the Scholarship Committee and her enthusiasm and commitment to the Scholarship program has sparked the creation of (drumroll, please…) the first Wine Down Wednesday Fundraising Event, to benefit the TCWN Women’s Scholarship Fund! You do not want to miss this one-of-a-kind night of wine, appetizers and fundraising! The event is being held on Wednesday, July 20, 2022 from 4:30 - 7:30 pm at Inner Sanctum Cellars Basecamp (22004 Parrots Ferry Road, Sonora). Tickets are $40 per person and include admission, a glass of wine or beer, paired appetizers, charcuterie, live music from the talented Nate Nathan, silent and live auctions, a member expo, and more! Sponsorship Opportunities are also available - Please take a look at the attached flyer and email me if you are interested in sponsoring this event – this is a GREAT way to promote your business while also helping TCWN make this night happen! (Sponsor logos need to be received no later than July 14th to be included on the sponsor banners).
Guests are invited! So grab your friends, office mates, colleagues, or spouses and join us for the perfect summer evening to have a glass of wine and relax after work! While tickets are on sale to the general public, there is a special members-only opportunity that is open to YOU! For a $20 donation, TCWN members will have the opportunity to set up an expo table to market your business to attendees that evening. You can present your services at your table, display brochures and products, and sell your wares! Another great way to advertise your business is to donate a gift basket or item/service from your business to the silent auction! All donations will be displayed in a way that prominently showcases the name of the member business who donated. This is a great opportunity to not only raise funds for the TCWN Scholarship Fund, but also market your business to the greater community! However you choose to participate – purchasing tickets, becoming an event sponsor, donating, or having an expo table – your donation will go directly towards supporting a local scholar! Tickets and sponsorships can be purchased by CLICKING HERE or in person at Burton's Mother Lode Appliance. Tickets will ONLY be sold at the door if not sold out so, Don't wait!
If you are able to donate an item to our silent auction, please email us at tuolumnecountywomensnetwork@gmail.com and we will arrange for a board member to come and pick up your donation.
I look forward to seeing all of you at this event, catching up and working together to support TCWN! Thank you for being a part of our organization and thank you for all you do to support women in business in our community. Aloha to you and yours!
Aloha nui loa,
Nikki Coleman, President
