April 2023 President’s Message
Hello ladies!
If you missed last month's meeting, you missed a good one. I can't thank Cindy Zelinsky enough and for two reasons. She had a family emergency that day and still graced us with her presence. Then her speech, Wow! It was so right on for us as a whole. I've known Cindy for some time but I didn't know her background. What an amazing story and so inspiring. In hindsight, I wish we would have videoed her speech so that everyone could have listened to her talk. I know I took away nuggets of her speech that I felt I could use in my own business.
Don't you just love that we have so many wonderful women in our community to have as role models, mentors, teachers, and friends?
I'm really looking forward to the April meeting. We will have Lane Rado talk to us about Social Media. This is an area I really feel that I lack in. I often joke that I need the help of a twelve year old. Anyone have one I can borrow? As we all know, social media is crucial now to businesses. When social media was first around it was used more for personal interaction and is now a vibrant marketing channel for businesses of all sizes. Whether you already have a strong social presence or are looking to step up your game, then you need to attend our next meeting. Our speaker Lane Rado, specializes in branding and social media content design. I can't wait to hear her speak.
On another note, one of the founding women who formed this amazing network needs our help. Artist Judy Grossman, had a life changing medical event that has left her with Paraplegia. She was in and out of hospitals and care facilities for almost a year. In January of 2023 Judy was finally able to move into a private home of a friend. While this transition is mostly positive, it also leaves Judy and Dean needing a lot of help. The goal is to raise $100,000 to pay for the big three:
1. Purchase a motorized wheelchair accessible van.
2. Purchase a motorized wheelchair.
3. Financial help to continue visits by caregivers who provide Judy with the ability to remain at home.
A fundraiser has been started with HELP HOPE LIVE. HELP HOPE LIVE was chosen in part because they assure financial accountability of funds raised and tax deductibility for contributors. I can truly say that the women in this network have the biggest hearts. Lets help our founding sister out. If you can't help here, stay tuned. I have it on our next board meeting agenda to talk about our own fundraiser for Judy. I'll keep you posted!
Cheers,
Karen Mariano-Luckhardt, President
